I just wanted to say a very big thank you for all of your support since September. As you know, I am moving into Year 4 full time after Easter. It has been an absolute privilege to work with each and every one of your children and they are an absolute credit to you all. I have loved working with them and will miss teaching them but I am only down the corridor if they need anything. Thank you also for the gifts and cards you have sent, I really do appreciate them and your kindness.
Have a lovely, restful Easter!
I have been blown away by the effort and standard of the children’s Roman Projects. Every single child has put in a great deal of effort and it has been a real pleasure to see how much the children have enjoyed learning about the Romans. Well done everybody!
Last week, we had a great time learning all about Judo. We had a lot of fun taking part in our first Judo lesson and also learnt that Judo means ‘the gentle way’. A really great way to spend the morning.
What a fantastic day we had yesterday! We had a great time in the park, playing on the swings and playground, as well as playing games of basketball, rounders and football. We also loved having our lunch on the field. We couldn’t believe how great the weather was, it made the day extra special. I was also super proud of the children as they got three compliments from members of the public commenting on their overall behaviour and kindness to other children. A really fun and great day to celebrate the excellent achievement of the children!
In science this week, we went outside and found different plants to draw. We had to be real scientists and work hard on being very accurate with our drawing. This took several attempts to get it right as sometimes we rushed and didn’t include all of the detail. I was really impressed with the final drawings the children produced. Excellent work by all!
I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s trip to Millhouses Park! Please ensure you bring a packed lunch and wear sensible clothing as we will be doing lots of sport games. The children can wear non-uniform tomorrow as it is a celebration of their achievements.
Back in September, I set the class a group challenge that they needed to reach 100 class marbles. They could only do this by receiving compliments by other teachers. One compliment resulted in 5 marbles. This involved being noticed for any good reason by another teacher and this being commented on. For example; good sitting in assemblies, how the children walk around the school, how the children line up, if the children follow the class purpose and culture. I specifically did not mention our classes target to any other teacher as I wanted the compliments to be genuine. I promised the children that if they worked as a team and managed to earn the 100 class marbles then they would receive a treat. I am really proud to share the news that the children reached the class target last week, and I am a teacher of my word so the class are going to receive their treat! Next week, on Thursday 6th April, I will be taking the children to Millhouses Park for a morning of fun and games. I also thought it would be lovely for the children to have their lunch in the park too. Therefore, please could you provide your child with a packed lunch next Thursday, we will walk down to the park in the morning and will be back by 1pm.
I will need some parent volunteers, so if you are free and would like to join us for a fun morning in the park, please let me know as soon as possible.
